LCCC is seeking enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to be trained as proctors of our Student Computing Center. People skills are an important part of this job. Direct experience is not required, LCCC will train you, but a willingness to be trained and work directly with computers is required. This position provides technical assistance to computer system users through answering questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or to remote locations. This technical assistance includes, but is not limited to: computer hardware and software issues; internet usage; printing; mobile devices; software installation; word processing; spreadsheets; electronic mail; access and usage for classroom technology; and operating systems. This position will elevate and enter unresolved problems into the department tracking software. While this is not a teaching position, this position may be required to assist the Wind Energy Technology instructor during training and laboratory sessions. This position will also include, but is not limited to, working in and around industrial equipment; managing tool, part and equipment inventories; inspecting and properly using personal protective equipment (PPE); maintaining equipment and training aids; cleaning lab areas and equipment; preparing training materials; and overall assisting with the program needs as directed by supervising faculty. The Driver’s Education Program Driver works directly with students to instruct them in the driving portion of the Driver’s Education class.  It is the responsibility of the Driver to ensure students receive the required instruction set forth for Driver’s Education by the Wyoming Department of Education.  The driver will work with enrolled students to assist them in becoming proficient drivers and ensure each student has completed the required driving and observation hours.  Progress of each student is reported to the Driver’s Education Instructor/Coordinator. Job Summary:  Core responsibilities of this position include: This position is tasked with teaching developmental mathematics on the University of Wyoming campus, on behalf of Laramie County Community College. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in accordance with LCCC's establish standard of curriculum. This position is responsible for fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages student success.   LCCC provides a number of resources to its adjunct faculty. Support systems are in place to assist all faculty in supporting student success through excellent instruction. These supports are outlined in detail in the LCCC Faculty Handbook, which serves as a vital and current reference to policies and procedures that impact expectations of all faculty of the College. All LCCC faculty are supported by the Faculty Academy within the Center for Excellence in Teaching.   Adjunct faculty must notify the dean of the school in which they teach if they are employed in another position at LCCC.    Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.   Starting Date: Position is open until filled. Tentative start date: January 8th, 2024.    Compensation: $850 per credit hour.

This position provides direct, high-impact academic support to LCCC students by helping struggling students understand difficult course material, complete their homework, set academic goals, and increase their study, test-taking, learning, technology, and college success skills through one-on-one and small group tutoring, online tutoring, workshops, and class presentations. Tutors facilitate independent, active learning and increase student learning confidence: They introduce study and learning strategies, guide students’ understanding of course content, and help students learn to answer their own questions or solve problems. The position requires individuals with excellent communication, creativity, and leadership abilities. All tutoring is conducted in a structured and supervised environment on the LCCC campus. Tutors provide excellent customer service to students, foster relationships with students, increase campus awareness of Learning Commons programs and initiatives, and perform other duties related to the Learning Commons as assigned.
