This is a part-time position.

 

Job Summary: Core responsibilities of this position include:

The part-time Administrative Assistant role within LCCC’s Plant Operations is a non-benefited position that offers essential clerical, administrative, and campus-wide support. This role ensures efficient office operations by managing tasks including customer service, office support functions, data entry, work order management, maintaining organized documentation for purchase orders and requisitions, aid with building key distribution, in addition to motor-pool vehicle scheduling and travel requests.

 

The position's working hours are typically 1:30 – 5:00 p.m. during winter months and 12:30 – 4:00 p.m. during summer months, Monday through Friday, subject to change based on office needs.

 

Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.

 

Compensation: Minimum $15.03/hr., Commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions: – this position is non-exempt and is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA.  This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative, other duties may be assigned).

  • Provide excellent customer service by answering phones, responding to emails, and assisting visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Aid with scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings as needed.
  • Proficient in verifying credit card activation status
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Operate office equipment such as printers, copiers, scanners, laminating devices, and a two-way radio
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to changing priorities
  • Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, cataloging, and maintaining records
  • Support maintenance operations by generating, distributing, and filing work orders
  • Maintain regular updates and upkeep of spreadsheets and databases related to the Plant's operational activities
  • Facilitate and perform various aspects of the vehicle scheduling process
  • Proficiency in using specific computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.)
  • Assist with purchasing-related tasks including organizing requisitions, purchase orders, and inventory management
  • Support the building key distribution and retrieval process, ensuring keys are logged and filed appropriately
  • Possess strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities

Physical/Mental Demands: 

  • Prolonged use of a computer for data entry (3 to 4 hours at a time).
  • May need to respond to varied, often changing, and sometimes urgent situations, tasks, and responsibilities. Will be processing a variety of paperwork, and must reconcile any discrepancies.   May have to deal with and tactfully handle customer complaints on a daily basis.
  • An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds to perform essential position functions

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • One year of experience in a professional work setting demonstrating proficient use of Microsoft Office products or similar programs (i.e., Adobe Acrobat, Google Workspace, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution in Business Administration, Office Management, Education, or a related field of study
  • Two years of experience as an Administrative Assistant.

If you are selected for the position, your appointment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. LCCC reserves the right to end this employment agreement should the results of your background investigation not be successful.
