This is a part-time position that is open to LCCC students & non-students. 

 

Job Summary:

 

Core responsibilities of this position include:

The RAC Monitor is responsible for oversight and supervision of the fitness areas in the Blue Federal Credit Union Recreation and Athletic Complex (RAC). Key responsibilities include ensuring a clean, safe and welcoming environment and delivering excellent customer service by assisting patrons and utilizing effective critical thinking and decision-making skills This role requires a commitment of 1- to 20 hours per week.

 

Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.

 

Compensation: $13.33 per hour, commensurate with experience. 

 

Screening Date: Open until filled, screening to begin immediately.

 

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions: – this position non-exempt and is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA.  This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative, other duties may be assigned).

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by welcoming and checking in patrons, guiding new members through the sign-up process, engaging with patrons, instructing participants on proper equipment use, and addressing inquiries.
  • Maintain and supervise the fitness area and equipment by disinfecting/cleaning and organizing the cardio equipment, dumbbells, weight plates, and bars.
  • Manage the daily operations of the fitness area by ensuring the area is prepared for operations and securely closed.
  • Enhance department success by embracing new assignments, supporting team members, and acquiring new skills.

Physical/Mental Demands: 

  • While performing the essential functions of this position a variable work schedule may be required including long workdays, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • There may be occurrences of interacting with employees and/or students, past employees and/or students, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions, which will require the employee to interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in such situations
  • While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
  • The work environment for this position requires the ability to work in a gym/recreation area, which may include long periods of standing, sitting, frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and the ability to respond quickly to an active athletic environment. (i.e. basketballs being thrown, running patrons, quickly changing environment, etc.)
  • An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to perform essential position functions. For lifts exceeding 50 pounds, an assisted lift technique is required
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High school Diploma or GED
